Well it is 4:30 in the morning and we just put the kids back to bed again.  Our carbon monoxide detector started going off around 3:30.  So, we reset it because we have nothing running (except our water heater).  Well it went off again, reset it.  Went off again – call fire department.  So we are standing out on our street at 4:00 in the morning with kids and dog (don’t tell anyone that we left the cat inside – trying to hold her outside would have been an experience, she was safe standing by the screen door).  Thank goodness the fire truck didn’t come down the street with sirens wailing and lights flashing.  They pulled up to our house as quiet as a fire truck can be.  Went into our house with the gear on and checked everything else out.  Everything is A OK.  No detection at all.  We apologized, but they said we did the right thing.  Oh, what fun.  I’m going to try and go back to sleep.  Maybe I should do some wash, I’m wide awake.

  1. HOW SCARY! I’m glad you did the right thing and played it safe! Glad everyone is alright! Hope you were able to go back to sleep 🙂

  2. OMG! How scary! I’d have done exactly the same thing. Ours goes off in the basement from time to time but it’s usually a back up battery needing changed. Argh! And I always forget how to reset the thing so it takes forever to change the battery. roflmao
