Christmas was great this year with the chidlren. We had 4 days of Christmas, yes you read that right! It was crazy. It was great watching their faces opening their gifts. Delton was very fast this year and kept asking, “Are there any more gifts for me?” I was beyond embarrassed at this question, but found out later that all his friends were saying the same thing. So, I’m going to just say, “He is going through a phase!” Julia on the other hand, was very methodical when opening her gifts. Every little piece of paper she tore off, had to go into the trash bag and it took ions for her to finish.
My dad came down the Tuesday before Christmas with the children’s gifts (thanks dad! – you made it so much easier to come home from good old Pine Grove, with less things to cram in the car).
We went to church on Christmas Eve.
The children were in a program this year at church. Delton was a shepherd and Julia was a sheep. Delton was practicing looking surprised to see the angels and Julia had to do the same thing. Take a look at these cute adorable faces looking so surprised to see the angels.
After church we went home and got ready for Santa and baby Jesus to come (he is placed in the manager on Christmas Eve when they are sleeping). The chidlren laid out the cookies, ate a few of course, and placed carrots and broccoli out for the reindeer. We tucked them in and they slept through the night (probably not Julia – she has another ear infection and only started taking antibiotics on Christmas Eve).
Santa came the next day and so did the baby Jesus. Delton was surprised to see baby Jesus in the manager, but his attention soon turned towards the gifts, of course.
Stay tuned to Christmas take 2
